Residence permit based on employment

The main requirement for obtaining a residence permit based on employment in Slovakia is an invitation (príslub na zamestnanie), which the labor immigrant receives from a Slovak employer.
If the purpose of immigration is employment, in order to obtain residency in Slovakia, it is necessary to provide an official invitation to work. In other words, it is first important to find an employer who is ready to provide you with a job and officially confirm this with a document.
Who can apply for a residence permit based on employment in Slovakia?

Non-EU citizens who have a valid job offer from a Slovak employer can apply for this permit, allowing them to live and work legally in Slovakia.

Applicants typically need a work contract, proof of accommodation, health insurance, a clean criminal record, and financial proof of stability.

The permit is usually issued for up to two years and can be extended if the employment continues and all legal requirements are met.
